Climate protection

The term climate protection describes precautions against global warming and the consequences of the resulting climate change. For thousands of years, the amount of carbon dioxide, orCO2 for short - one of the most important greenhouse gases - secreted into the atmosphere remained at a stable level and thus ensured stable climate conditions on Earth.

It was not until the beginning of industrialisation around the middle of the 19th century and the associated burning of fossil fuels that more than twice the amount ofCO2 enters the earth's atmosphere than would have been the case without anthropogenic causes. The agreements reached in the course of the last decades have selectively led to a reduction inCO2 emissions and contributed to climate protection, but it is still too little.

Climate protection is much more than just controlling and reducing pollutants secreted into the atmosphere. It is also the sustainable protection of naturalCO2 sinks such as the tropical rainforests in Central America. You can now find out what you can contribute to climate protection yourself with little effort, using just five to-do's as examples, but there is much more.

What you can do for climate protection

There are many ways to sustainably reduceCO2 consumption. You will be all the more surprised when you realise what you can achieve yourself with very simple means. It is in your hands.

Give the gift of a tree

With Green Industry, you can plant, give or donate trees. We buy up endangered forest areas in areas that are to be cleared for agricultural purposes, i.e. the establishment of monocultures. These forest areas are registered and thus become untouchable for logging. In this way, we expand still existing forest areas and involve the local farmers in our work and employ them.

Plant a tree

Get involved with the environment and plant a tree as part of our reforestation project in Costa Rica, the green heart of Central America. The number of tree species found in Costa Rica is around 2,200. An impressive number that makes "the tree" the most important element of this unique biodiversity. By planting a tree, you make a sustainable contribution to climate protection and at the same time put your fingerprint on the future.

Zero Waste Commitment

Corporate forests and or tree gifts are effective contributions to climate and environmental protection. Sustainable and completely without waste. Show and communicate your green commitment and the Green Industry will carry out your order.

Eat less meat

There is no need to become a vegetarian, nor do we need a piece of meat on our plate every day. Reduce your meat consumption to two days a week, eat a balanced diet and you will save the global climate up to. 450 kilograms ofCO2 a year.

Organic from the region Food

Farmers who rely on organic farming only need about half the amount of energy that conventional farmers consume. One example. Agricultural production in Latin America is booming. Not least because Central Europeans want to have access to certain products such as asparagus at any time of the year. Yet the consumption of 100 grams of this noble vegetable causes aCO2 emission of 1.7 kilograms, which is due to the long transport route. If one were to limit the consumption of asparagus to the asparagus season and use vegetables from one's own region, theCO2 emissions could be reduced to only 60 grams.

Benefit from green electricity

Many shy away from switching to an independent green electricity provider. There are too many hurdles to overcome. Yet the switch is quite simple and the benefits for the climate are enormous. A family of three can save up to 1.9 tonnes ofCO2 per year.

Environmentally friendly travel

Short-haul flights are taboo. CO emissions from short-haul flights are high. A return flight from Düsseldorf to Munich in economy class hasCO2 emissions of 252 kilograms. The same route by train reducesCO2 emissions to 29 kilograms per person.
